Jonathan Reiss
MSW, RSW
Jonathan is a Registered Social Worker who holds a Master of Social Work (MSW). He has spent over a decade working with children and families in mental health, including working in schools, hospitals, group homes, and the justice system. In private practice, he has a particular interest in men’s mental health and father’s mental health, as men and fathers’ mental health is often overlooked in the postpartum period. He is a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
As a father to two young daughters, he has a deep understanding of the unique challenges fathers face today, navigating the evolving expectations of masculinity and parenthood. He works closely with parents navigating postpartum depression and anxiety, identity shifts in early parenthood, and the emotional realities of caregiving. He also works with couples, helping them build stronger, more connected, and values- driven relationships rooted in trust and mutual respect. His work also includes individuals and couples on the fertility journey, as well as those experiencing pregnancy loss or termination for medical reasons, approaching this work with deep respect for the often invisible grief involved.
Jonathan’s therapeutic style blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) approaches with neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed care. He has also completed the Perinatal Mood Disorders certificate training through Postpartum Support International. He encourages individuals and couples to engage in a journey of self-awareness, self- compassion, and exploration. Jonathan has significant experience working with adolescent and adult ADHD, both in therapeutic and executive functioning roles, and is passionate about helping those with ADHD in navigating parenthood and partnership in their relationships.
